Business Risk Manager - Fund Management

Our client is a leading investment management company providing fund management services to a large domestic and international client base. They provide investment products to both institutional and retail clients. Due to business expansion they are seeking to increase the team by recruiting a Business Risk Manager who will have responsibility for leading the business risk team. The team identifies, manages and monitors the risks inherent in the business (for both on and off balance sheet business). The key risk for the business is operational risk but the role is also involved in the monitoring and management of credit risk and financial risk.

The Role:
- Manage a small team of staff in the business risk team
- Prepare and implement a comprehensive annual plan for business risk
- Identify, control and report on the operational risks for the business
- Ensure there is a strong monitoring process in place
- Provide ongoing reports and information to senior management
- Ensure effective procedures in place to manage counter-party risk
- Ensure appropriate legal documentation in place
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments

The Candidate:
- Relevant third level qualification or CFA desirable
- Qualification in accounting, legal or risk mgt advantageous
- Direct experience working in risk in investment management
- Experience in an investment management company desireable
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Confidence in dealing with people at all levels in the organisation
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the business environment
- Demonstrates an ability to lead and motivate a small team
- Proactive planning and organisational ability
